So, yes, I DID 'paint' it by technicality. // I have TWO storylines as to how this could've possibly happened. 1 - The Illiad Route Apollo sees how Odysseus is being such an amazing strategist for the Greeks, and also how he has such a wonderful singing voice. Since Apollo is with the Trojans, of COURSE he'd want to take the opposing side's biggest asset. So, he swoops down, grabs Ody, and is like "muehehe I own you now because I said so and I'm a god. L bozo. still love you though-" before whisking him to Olympus. Odysseus hates it there, uh, Zeus finds out and is obviously mad since that is DIRECT divine intervention. Apollo gets punished somehow and Odysseus gets to go back to fighting. This is the better ending- 2 - The Helios Route After Eurylochus stabs Helios's cows, instead of sending Apollo, Helios sends, you guessed it, Apollo !! And then he's like: "damn, your voice is so pretty. if you let me keep you, then your crew will live !! And if you don't, i'll... uh... smite you all. And your son <3"' Since, OBVIOUSLY, Odysseus has no choice, he goes to Olympus with Apollo. Since, technically, Zeus has zero problems with this, Odysseus stays with him for seven years, instead of it being Calypso. After those seven, ever so slightly problematic years, (we all know the stories of Apollo's lovers. poor them.) he gets released and the rest of the Vengeance saga continues as normal. Another more problematic ending is that Apollo doesn't back off, grants Odysseus immortality, and just keeps him there forever.
