On April 17th, 2025. DCRC ran the first train on it's newly acquired Pearson Branch. This was the first train for the DCRC and first train on the line since 2007. The trackage was purchased in February and was reconditioned over the next few months. By early April the trackage was ready for service and later that month DCRC SW1001 1004 was reactivated (with a new K3LA as it's P3 was stolen) and had the honors of shipping two reefers to Feather River Cold Storage. 1004 is going to be semi-permanently designated as power for the Pearson Branch as the trackage is disconnected from the rest of the DCRC system.
