Instructions

TYSM for 300 followers! I can't believe it's only been a few weeks since 250. As the title states and as my polls have concluded, I will be hosting a songwriting competition where you write your own song lyrics. I will pick a winner, and turn it into an actual song that I sing and post on Scratch. THIS IS BEGINNER-FRIENDLY! Don't be afraid to share your lyrics :D In fact, beginners are even more encouraged to join than experienced writers <33 You do NOT have to sing your lyrics. Actually, I would greatly prefer it you didn't :3 So first here are the REQUIREMENTS for song lyrics: 1. Have a Title 2. Have more than one verse 3. Include a chorus and/or bridge 4. Be Scratch-Appropriate 5. NO AI. Please. Write it yourself. Here are some things that ARE NOT requirements: 1. It does NOT need to rhyme 2. There is NOT a required length (I'll just add more music breaks if I think it's too short) 3. There is NOT a required theme Here are some good places to start: -Pick a genre. Is it country, pop, musical theatre, rock, etc? -Pick a theme or central idea for your song -Sometimes it's easier to write a chorus or bridge first, and then do the verses. Link to official process: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/36777624 I will select a winner after Sunday, May 18th, 2025 and turn their lyrics into an actual song that I will sing and post. Even if you don't win, if I like your lyrics enough, I'll consider asking to write them into a song anyways. Inside the project there's a very very blurry screenshot of kind of my brainstorming when I write a song (full screen and squint to read it). These particular lyrics I didn't ever do anything with, but they're in the same document as my original song LUNGS. These would be considered acceptable lyrics to enter for my competition- especially genre of folk/indie. Quicksilver (the unfinished example in the project) goes Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, then would probably end with repeating the first Verse or at least something else smiliar. This is acceptable. IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A VERSE, CHORUS, OR BRIDGE IS PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1168146327/ Please remix this project and put your lyrics in the instructions or in the project. Thanks!

Competition - @Cathaven123 Background music - LUNGS by @Cathaven123 https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/36777624 There is a step by step process in the desc All you have to do is follow step 1 :D I will do the rest if you win :3 There will be one official winner, but I may ask to use your lyrics anyways <3 If you enter and win, that is automatic consent for me to use the lyrics submitted (obviously with credit), but I WILL ask before I use the song before anything else. If you do not win, I will always ask before using the lyrics.
