Never heard of ANZAC day? Well, you should. ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. They fought for us, the Australians, in both World Wars and many other wars. Many sacrificed their lives. We remember them on ANZAC day. At 4:30am on ANZAC day, we wake up and go to wherever there is a monument listing the names of everyone in the town who fought and lost their lives in war. Then the Last Post will play, and then there is a minute's silence. There is a poem, and it reads: They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. We will remember them Lest we forget.
ANZAC day is today (25/4/25 or 4/25/25 I think is how Americans write the date) so I felt like doing this. It isn't exactly the most important day of the year to me, but I've been thinking about it a lot this time, so here I am. Thank you for reading.
