“What?”Hollythorn yelped as she jumped back.I lowered my head. “A-are you exiling us?”I asked. “N-no!”Jayflight meowed. “I mean it's your choice-” “I chose Thunderclan!”I meow. “As I was saying,”Jayflight continued. “Leaving is the safest option.” “But..what about Foxmoon?”Hollythorn asked. “She’s who you should be running from.”Jayflight meowed darkly. I backed away from him. “But-” “Hollythorn!Goldenmoon!”Foxmoon came out of the bushes. “What is he doing to you!”She ran over.I backed away.She looked at me. “What’s wrong dear?”If Jayflight believes she’s evil,she probably is.He’s never been wrong before.But I was.Jayflight’s gaze followed me as I ran into my mother. “Let’s get back to camp.”We left the clearing as Jayflight glared at us from behind.I didn’t look back. I walked next to Foxmoon.She padded confidently through the forest. “Foxmoon?” “Yes?”She looked at me. “Jayflight said I should be scared of you,”I said. “Why would he say that?” “Well,”she looked me up and down. “Because you should be.” “Why?”I asked cautiously. “And why do you know the territory so well?” She just smiled.I could feel my fur bristling. “Did you really think I was your real mother?”She asked. “Y-yes?”Now I was starting to get scared. “Well,I’m not.”She looked at me again. “Then who is it?”I asked, thinking this was a joke. “It isn’t,” “Isn’t what?”I asked. “A joke.”I took a step away from her.She smiled again. “I’m still dead,Goldenmoon.I was just haunting Jayflight for years.Ever since he killed me.” “Why would he do that?”I asked nervously.Well,tried to.My voice was so high I was surprised when Foxmoon responded. “To protect you.”Before I could respond she padded into the camp entrance.I stopped Hollythorn.She looked at me. “What do you need?”she asked. “You didn’t hear any of Foxmoon’s conversation with me?”Hollythorn shook her head and moved my paw off her shoulder.She held it for a moment.Then let go. “No matter what,”she meowed. “You will always be my sister.”Then she walked into the entrance to Thunderclan.Leaving me thinking she definitely heard.
