Whole bunch of lore: Before he became one with the void sea after escaping ORB's mental prison and failed to become an echo, he was a normal ancient who actually designed ORB. He had three roles, he was an engineer, a priest, and the one who wrote most passages in his city. In the Embrace the Void au, an unnamed ancient who is now an echo apologizes to Endless Void Beneath the Earth. And describes how his form of void will avenge them. But during his time when he was alive, he created ORB as a triple affirmative before Sliver of Straw has. As a result, the empress decided to claim the mechanism to herself and made very poor decisions, resulting in the downfall of EVBtE's whole city which if y'all didn't know is atop TC's superstructure.
