<><><><> Chapter 2 - Lily <><><><> On Monday, I'm running late to ELA when I accidentally crash into Grace's crush, Alex. He falls over. "Oh mer- Oh my g0sh, I'm so sorry!" I yell. I almost said that to a MUGGLE! Thankfully, it seems he didn't notice. "It's okay." He slurrs. He gets up and I gather his books, then give them to him. "Thanks." "Mmhm." Alexander looks around, then brushes past me, walking away. I continue running to ELA. I slide into my seat at the last second, then realize that my hoodie pocket seems a bit heavier. I reach into my green hoodie and pull out a piece of paper tightly folded up. I open it. 'Meet me by the lockers outside Grace's homeroom after school. Don't bring her. -Alex' it reads. Grace, who's sitting behind me tries to look at the paper. "What's that?" She whispers to me. I look at her and quickly stuff it back into my pocket. "Nothing!" My cheeks flush as they do when I'm nervous. Grace gives me a look. /Urgh! She knows!/ I look at her back, but then our professor interrupts with a boring lecture. I cross my fingers in my lap and a strange thought crosses my mind. /oh no... Wh-what if he's only being with Grace to get to me?!/ I can feel my face turn redder. Professor Grog looks at me. I look down. He comes over. "Miss Rose, do you need to step outside for a bit?" He asks. The class giggles. My face grows hotter. I can feel the heat going into my ears. /I'd better get out.../ "For a bit, perhaps. May I be excused for five minutes?" The professor nods and I jump up, close the door behind me and pant as I lean against the wall. A locker on the other side of the hall opens and papers fly out. That only makes me pant more. "Pull yourself together, Lily," I mutter to myself, "You're okay. You cannot get kicked out of a muggle school!" I calm down a bit. And it's then and there where I decide one thing. /If he is trying to get to me, I won't let him. He belongs to Grace./ And with that, I fix my face and walk back in, waiting for the bell to ring.
