Divided into three sections! I’ll be adding to this as time goes on with both ideas from me and you (@M0N1T0R1NG) ORIGINAL PLOT RECAP (tell me if there’s anything I need to add, especially for Colocasia) - Colocasia and Lotus first cross paths ish when the rogues barge in on a gathering. They don’t speak face to face but they do see each other. - Lotus goes on a holy mission or something like that. I’m not sure what Colocasia’s was doing. - Lotus meets @Smokefeather11’s character (I forgot their name) She also fights a whole alligator with another cat so she’s riding a very high horse - Colocasia’s embarrassment over losing to the rogue manifests in his first visit to the rot. He starts training with Orbweaver - Lotus goes to the Rot. She gets beat up by Colocasia and suddenly she’s not so cocky. - Time goes on and Lotus really grows anxious, and she grows to resent Colocasia. I don’t remember how Colocasia felt, but I think he held animosity towards Lotus as well - This all culminates in a fight between the two. For a moment the fighting calms down and they talk to each other, but then Lotus threatens to tell Colocasia’s crush about the Rot and how he’s hurting her and he permanently damages her vocal chords, leaving her unable to speak. - Colocasia has to deal with the guilt of having done something really horrible, while Lotusspring deals with not being able to communicate. - resentment builds up in Lotusspring. Next time she crosses paths with Colocasia in the rot, she fights him and he doesn’t fight back. She hurts him so badly that his foreleg becomes amputated. (Given this wasn’t completely her doing, it was broken beforehand.) - Lotus feels terrible and Colocasia feels like he deserved what happened. She goes into his territory to make sure he’s alive (I think) and he finds her and they make amends. - There’s a whole side tangent with Lotus’s brother where he finds out about all this and meets Colocasia, and he also gets attacked by an alligator:| - Lotus and Colocasia end up becoming friends and he teaches her how to write to communicate - I think this was the last strand I ever did in Sundial, Lotus tells Smokey’s character about the Rot and what happened to her, but she twists the story to make Colocasia look like a hero LORE IDEAS - The equivalent to Star’s Fury could play the same role as the Rot? So it’s nice and compact. Instead of being secretly trained by evil dead dudes, their trained by dubious rogues - There can be only two groups for simplification. One representing Broken Forest and the other representing the marsh area that Lotus lived in (I forgot the name) Or these can even be mushed into one group. NEW PLOT IDEAS - I am seeping Lotus in evil she will definitely have a genuine villain arc. She is not making amends with Colocasia as fast as she did in Sundial(If we still go the them resenting each other route) But I may also give her a redemption arc afterwards - I am getting rid of Lotussprings vocal cords again at some point in this new story. It doesn’t have to be Colocasia’s doing, but it was a huge thing for her character and her development, and I just don’t think anything else could match the effect it had on her character. - Lotus will learn sign language instead of writing for her main method of communication afterwards because. It’s just more convenient. For her I mean. Not for me. I will have to do my research. - There are two spirits. One is the guardian of the Bayou, and the other is the deity of death and decay.
