Me ranting about the lore of PHB because I can, cry about it: There is honestly so much that happened to Lily/Liam and Adam between the ages 4-16 man, when with people like Tom, Luna and Amy, their trauma is usually just one thing, or something that happened for a short period of time, like a year or two, but lily and Adam get no break, it’s all just trauma. So if you wanna get like, episode 10 (episode 10 is just a flashback episode to all the main characters) and a couple of later episodes spoiled then I guess stop reading here, but if you wanna hear about it rn, then ig just continue reading: So Adam and Liam became friends in preschool, they were literally inseparable, until Adam met Chris and Lisa, who saw Adam as someone who would be good to be like, their bodyguard, they would use Adam to beat up kids who didn’t give Lisa and Chris their lunch money and stuff like that. Adam had to balance working with Chris and Lisa and being friends with Liam, until one day, Liams birthday were Liam came into Adam’s treehouse while Chris and Lisa were in there talking to Adam about an “epic prank” they could play on Adam’s sisters little brother, and one thing leads to another and Liam ends up falling out of the treehouse and having to go to the hospital, Adam goes to visit him but Chris and Lisa get annoyed and tell Adam that he is becoming soft, and Adam has to choose between friendship and having a purpose, and Liam watches Adam leave with Chris and Lisa, (Liam heard the whole conversation between Adam, Chris and Lisa, and knows that Adam knowingly chose to leave him) the next day Liam sees there was a murder on the news, and it was Adam’s family, he starts getting really worried because Adam is missing, but Liam has a feeling he knows where Adam is, so Liam sneaks out of the hospital and goes to Adam’s house and goes into Adam’s treehouse, where he finds Adam curled up in a ball and crying, Liam tells Adam that he needs to go to the police so they can keep him safe, but Adam is reluctant because he thinks he will go to jail for the whole murders being his fault (I’m not spoiling that part rn) Liam ends up convincing Adam and he gives Adam his older brothers phone number, and asks Adam to call him when he can. Liam goes back to the hospital and sleeps, the next day on the news is says Adam has been found, Liam is happy. Until Liam is a bit older, he is still waiting for Adam to call him. his parents leave to go to a wedding, but they never return, Liam waits for days at his window waiting to see his parents car return, but they never do, Liam and his older brother end up going to live with their aunt, Liam ends up keeping his older brothers phone just in case Adam calls him. Liams brother ends up running away from home to go and live a better life. Liam is left alone. Liams aunt ends up dying of old age and Liam goes into foster care. Liam starts to think it is his fault that everyone leaves. One day, Liams brothers old phone starts to ring! It’s Adam! Liam is so happy, Adam wants to meet up again and be friends again. Liam and Adam have coffee in a coffee shop. They have a long nice talk, and Adam tells Liam that he needs his help, Liam, after being abandoned so many times is desperate for one of those people’s approval and agrees to help him, Adam tells Liam that he wants to find the monster that killed his family, Liam agrees because maybe if he does this for Adam, he won’t leave him, they will be friends again, just like the old days, and then we are at where episode 1 starts, with Adam getting an idea to start with Bigfoot to get their name out there and maybe end up finding the monster that killed his family. Now, in episode 6, lily is regretting ever agreeing to Adam, and he starts having thoughts that maybe Adam only called him to help him with this monster hunting job, that Adam purposely never called him for years, only to call him to ask him for a favour. Adams whole plot of episode 6, is deciding to stay in this time, where his family is dead and he is miserable, or go back in time and stop his family from dying, but all of this would have never happened, all of the good times and memories, and he could never change his mind. Adam deciding that he is going to go back in time, gets caught by lily, who is upset about Adam trying to leave again. That’s all I’ll say for episode 6 rn
