I think I got excited HEHEHEEH this was so fun Sorry I took so long lol, I decided to take my time- I didn't feel rushed :") I hope you like it lol So I couldn't decide whether I should do Mist or Phoenix ;w; SO I DID BOTH AAAAND…RECORDED MY PROCESS B) 1. base sketch, figuring out how they should look, their positions, etc. Just so you know, that black square was initially going to be a kn!fe but I took it out because I…did not want to convey the wrong idea. ;w; I CENSORED IT OKAY I did not think through that when I was sketching and colouring this lol 2. sketching out even more, adding expressions and hair details and clothes and stuff :") Mist was a little more difficult to figure out design wise lol, Phoenix came in like one try I looked at her and I was like "you look like a short haired gal, with cargo shorts, asymmetrical socks, and combat boots" but sadly I didn't get to draw those lol 3. lineart! this took the longest I think lol- had lots of fun with it though 4. made some adjustments to the lineart, added some things, and added eyes :'D 5-7. before colouring, I blocked out what palettes I should use for the characters, and then blocked out the background; I forced myself to do this now because at the start I literally had NO IDEA what the background and lighting scenario should be X'D so I figured it out now, along with how the colours would be impacted by the background at this stage before it was too late ;'DDD 6. Flatting the colours for real now lol and I got rid of the kn!fe because I didn't want to give the impression that Phoenix was planning to…um, DO anything with it :') and besides it's scratch lol can't share any of thatttt~ /hj 7. Shading! I've been using references a lot for my lighting and shading scenarios, but I didn't this time to test myself on anything I would've learned lol 8. Lighting B) again, tested myself. I think I could've done Mist's hair differently but oh well (and coloured in Mist's other wing claw because I forgor) 9. More lighting, except bounce light lol. it's so satisfying to draw- 10. I did not record my steps for the background B")) soo you're on your own for that one 12. A few extra effects to make it more snazzy, played with the values a bit to have them pop out a bit more, added lineart colouring that you can't see, and some subtle rim light because why not Waited 1 (I was gonna wait till the evening to post it but I got too excited) hour to see if there's anything I would change, and now here it is :'D Had so much fun wth it, I hope you like it hehe- I don't exactly know where they are, they're just…somewhere with lights. It looks like a restaurant but it also looks like the waiting room of some bank or something so I dunno WHAT that place is, but they ended up int he same place. It's up to you to decide how hahahahaah So clearly I needed to pay more attention to that part but THAT'S FINEEEEE Credits: Art: me Coding: me Characters: Mist (left) and Phoenix (right) - both belong to @StarclanCats; original feral design was by them, the human designs are by me Program: Photoshop Music: Intuition - The Backseat Lovers which is a totally unrelated song to this piece but it suits the kinda moody vibe this has lol I might replace it with something else later but eh I'm lazy, Jigsaw Falling Into Place - Radiohead (which is moodIER, a little TOO moody for it UGH), "Rule #4 - Fish in a Birdcage" - Fish in a Birdcage (muuuch better lol) Also don't expect this spree of posting to last lol
