Key: 'Text' = Thoughts of character "Text" = Dialouge (Spoken out loud) Song: Poltergeist - CircusP (Hit the flag and listen while you read!) I might be taking a break from writing these bc I've been playing Co-op with my sister instead of playing my Monk save, and I haven't gotten too far in that yet, so I might have to put this on pause
Ep3- Monk's eyes fluttered open. The eyeball-creature sat centimeters away from his face. He screamed and jumped back. Jinxie rushed through the shelter pipe, "What in the ancients are you screaming your tail off for?" She said tiredly. Her pup, Minty, followed close behind her, squeaking curiously. "Oh. Good day overseer." She said, bowing her head to the eyeball-creature. Minty squealed with delight and scrambled to the overseer. It craned its stem-like torso away from the little pup. Minty squeezed the seer in a hug. The seer popped from the ceiling, out of reach of Minty. "Come outside." Jinxie said, "We caught some bats." "We?" Monk asked, he bent down to eye-level with Minty, "Did you help?" He asked teasingly. Minty nodded excitedly. They went through the pipe and Jinxie tossed him a bat. He ripped limbs off the carcass with his teeth and gobbled down the flesh. "Follow me." Jinxie said, she led him through several pipes and into a large overlook. She set Minty in a tunnel and told her to stay there, then led Monk up a pole and onto a small ledge. Monk's eyes widened, before him was what felt like the entire sky. Jinxie sat on the ledge next to him, "Look at that." She said, "That's our world." She sighed wistfully. Monk smiled at her, she was staring, wide-eyed, at the expanse of sky before them. He looked away from her and followed a trail of clouds with his eyes. A shadow fell over the ledge. 'Probably just another cloud' Monk began to hum a song he heard years ago. "LOOK OUT!!" Jinxie screeched, tackling him off the ledge and onto the ground far below. Monk groaned, the fall was longer than any height he'd ever fallen before. He looked back up at the ledge, a giant, vulture-like creature dove towards them. He rushed Jinxie through a pipe and followed immediately after. "What. Was. THAT!?" He yelled, shaking from the shock. Jinxie didn't even acknowledge his question "MINTY!! MINTY'S STILL BACK THERE!!" She dove back through the pipe. Monk ran after her, 'But what is it?' She had never answered him. He poked his head through the pipe just in time to see Jinxie grab Minty and run through the pipe they came from. The shadow of the Vulture-creature still hung over the ground around him. He made a mad dash for the pipe. The Vulture dove for Monk and blocked his path. In a panic, Monk grabbed a spear off the ground and launched it into the Vulture-creature's eye. The creature screeched and Monk slipped past it and into the pipe. On the other side, Minty lay on the floor, shaking with fear. Jinxie hung her head, tears welling in her eyes. "Miss me?" Monk said. Jinxie looked up and ran at Monk with a smile as bright as the sun and hugged him. "You're... hurting... me..." Monk wheezed, but he hugged her back. They stood like that for a while, and, without saying a word, Jinxie grabbed Minty, and they headed back to the shelter.
