Walking through Middle school My head down Shoulders slouching My school books In hand My black hair Woven Into a simple braid And my short shadow Stretches in front of me As the sun casts A beam of light Through the grand School windows I bit my lip Fighting the urge To cower And cry I move Out of the light And shrink Into the shadows Yet again Hiding From the world Trying Not to be noticed Becoming More and more Forgotten And forever Invisible
