name: Mantalo flower average life span in wild: 2 - 3 years Information: the Mantalo is a carnivorous plant species, using their bright colors and lovely scent to try and attract any nearby creatures. once they sense a small creature such as a fly, they lash out their teeth and chow down on it. they continue this behavior until fully fertilized and reach adulthood. once a Mantalo reaches adulthood, it will begin to emit even stronger scents in hopes of attracting a larger animal (typically over 1 - 1.5 pounds) while ignore smaller animals like their former favorite food the fly. once they attract a larger animal (ex: a rabbit, a mouse, a human, ect) they will wait until they try and uproot it and or begin trying to eat it, they will proceed to bite into them instead, and begin wrapping thorned vines around them (which mostly should be hidden in the ground underneath the plant) and injecting poison into the creature that proceeds to paralyze the animal. after successfully paralyzing the creature, they will stab their vines into their brain stem and transmitting messages to control their body, leaving the animal in a zombified-like state. in this state they will feed on their nutrients, while looking for the perfect place to plant their seeds. once they find this spot, they will proceed to bury themselves and their host in the dirt while releasing their seeds; use their bodies to help give nutrients to the new generation of Mantalos.
