I feel a sharp jab in my side and see Amara looking at me with a grin, “Hey, you wanna watch something on my phone?” I sigh “Like what?” She gave me a look “You know what.” I sigh again “I’m not in the mood.” Amara elbowed me again “Just one episode, Maya, don’t be a baby.” “I’m not being a baby, I just genuinely don’t want to watch Supernatural right now.” I snapped, turning to look out the window. “Just, please, leave me alone.” Amara put her hand on my shoulder. “Are you missing your mom? She was a good aunt; I bet she was an even better mom. It’s probably been hard on you. I mean, the detectives won’t even tell you or your dad anything. What if they’re hiding something? We should-” I cut Amara off. “Just stop talking, and if they’d want to tell us anything, they would’ve already. So, I’m begging you, just stop.” I watcched as Amara slowly blinked. “Alright, fine. Just don’t come to me when you don’t have any friends because of your attitude problems.” Amara scoffed, glaring at me. The rest of the car ride went by quickly and silently until we drove onto a bumpy dirt road. There was a big bump that woke me up from the nap I was taking.
