(This is subject to change.) This is a short overview of the main political entities of Askana, because i want it to have it's own lore and how it came to be. Explanation of each entity: Pre-Intergalactic Period - This is a period in Askanese history where there was not any unified country that controlled anything beyond a galaxy (hence pre-intergalactic). Kingdom of Hechenyia - This is the first ever "Askanese" unified entity to exist, and was pretty peaceful. It fell due to a succession crisis during the kingdom's final days. Warlord Era - After the death of the heirless King, the kingdom split into 3 main states among his cousins: Duchy of Hechenyia (East Hechenyia), High Duchy of Estraana and Kingdom of Astika. This splitting caused a many years long civil war that was the longest in Askanese history. The era came to an end after the victory of Astika. Astikan Empire - following the victory of Astika, the first queen was a military genius, and started waging aggresive wars, expanding her kingdom into an empire. Kingdom of Askana - with the collapse of Astika, the jewel of the empire fought and gained their independence, forming the first independent entity with the Askanese identity. Askanese Empire - the Askanese Empire was a failed and embarrasing attempt at recreating and surpassing the Astikan Empire. It only lasted a grand total of 9 years before the "Bloodless Revolution". Republic of Askana-Mietai - following the events of the bloodless revolution, Askana transformed into a Republic, bringing in its neighbour Mietai into it. United People's Federation of Askana (Present day): the UPF of Askana was formed after a revolution and civil war, that had to do with major discontent with the corrupted, instable and heavily capitalist Republic.
