She's thought to be a "ghost" ever since when she was alive and a tree fell directly onto her back, "killing" her. Truth is, she managed to get away, but nobody believes so. She is thought to be a black Selkirk rex + Persian mix, when in reality she's white. Spiral meets Toby out in the woods someday, where he is scared straight about meeting her. She tells Toby the true story about how she WASN'T a ghost, and accompanies him along his little "journey".
