Yay I’m talking about it now- Tbh I had two questions I wanted to answer- “what happens when Surge and Kit split up?” and “how the heck was Sage made?!” Thus an AU was born- hmmmmmmm- you know what I’ll just copy and paste my thought process from the notes app on here: Forget Me AU An AU where, after Kit’s actions are revealed and he is exiled, he sacrifices himself for Surge and wipes her memory so she doesn’t remember him. But, he left her a special locket with a USB drive for when she was ready… Of course, Surge is a little ticked when she finds out, and she, Sonic, and Tails go to save him from Eggman. Unfortunately, they might be too late… Kit used to create Sage? I mean, it makes sense. Eggman copies off his coding to create an artificial daughter. That, or he changes Kit’s mind and uses it AS Sage’s. That would be REALLY interesting. 0-0 OK. This will be like Sonic Circuit. It’s totally fanfic material. O////O THE ACTUAL BETTER DESCRIPTION OF THE PLOT: Kit was discovered sowing chaos in order to get Surge her hero worship, and Surge ultimately left him after realizing how volatile and dangerous he was. Time has passed, and things are going smoothly for the heroes. One day, Eggman ambushes Surge, wanting to kidnap and experiment on her. Kit, however, was prepared for this and saved his former superior. Eggman promises he’ll leave Surge alone if Kit comes with him, and he agrees. Before he leaves, he wipes Surge’s memory of him so she won’t go after him and get hurt as well. In addition, he leaves her a special locket with a USB drive in it. What he used to wipe her memory of him also implanted a little bit of code to protect and never open the locket. A long time passes (we pass Frontiers), and it’s like he never existed. We don’t know what happened to him, and Surge has forgotten him entirely. Of course, Sonic and Tails notice this over time. They ask about him, and she replies that she doesn’t know who he is. Sonic and Tails realize what’s wrong and wrestle the locket away from her, plugging the USB inside into Tails’ gadget. As it turns out, it contained a video of Kit. In the video, Kit apologizes for his past actions and explains what happened. He knew Eggman would come for Surge, and he states that he had to protect her no matter the cost. He also bemoans how obsessed he is with Surge, hating how dependent and loyal he is. He wishes he could be his own person but knows that he will always be tied to her. Getting back on track, he urges Surge to forget him, despite her just remembering him. He doesn’t want her to come after him because that would put all of his work to naught. With that, the video ends, leaving Surge distraught and wanting to rescue him despite his warning. Sonic and Tails, however, tell Surge that they need to defy Kit’s expectations if they are to rescue him. Surge reluctantly agrees, and they all head for Eggman’s base. They sneak inside and look for Kit. Tails believes Kit to be there, but they cannot find him. Suddenly, they are cornered by Eggman, who knows why they are there. He reveals that Kit no longer exists, in a sense. Eggman had used Kit as a base for his AI daughter, Sage. After revealing this heartbreaking information, he attacks the trio with Sage and a platoon of robots. They have a hard time fighting back due to the new information. Eventually, though, they succeed in beating back Eggman’s army and leave Sage quite confused. Sage investigates her creation, although Eggman makes it difficult. However, after some probing, she begins to remember Kit. She later goes to meet with Surge and confesses that while she used to be Kit, it was impossible to be him or bring him back. Surge insists she think harder, wanting a solution, but Sage sadly replies that there’s nothing she can do, but she has an idea that might make her feel a bit better. With that, she begins to tell Surge everything about her former sidekick, inside and out, and concludes that he loved her desperately, even if most of it was artificial. Surge thanks her for this information and says to keep trying to remember who she really was, to which Sage reluctantly agrees. They part ways, Surge resolving to bring Kit back and bring a stop to Eggman’s plans, and Sage resolving to discover who she really was. And that is where this story ends… Ok that was my whole thought process we’re done with THAT now. I’ve actually added onto it since then. Long story short? Sage figures out Kit is alive and in stasis, but if she wakes him up fully, she’ll be in his body since they share the same mind. So, she just wakes up his brain. She’s the dominant one, but Kit is always just there in the back of her “brain”. Kit’s annoyed of course, but he seems pretty nice at the beginning. But over time, as Sage secretly researches a way to free him while he’s along for the ride, Kit starts influencing her to be more like him.
(cont.) He had realized that the only way to be freed was to either destroy Sage or get the help of Eggman, and neither of those was going to happen. So, he decided that he’d either make her just like him, or he’d become the dominant mind, which is practically the same thing. Kit actually begins to succeed at that, which makes Sage VERY concerned. I think from that point, Eggman reveals that he knew the entire time and tries to help Sage. He puts her out of her misery for the time being and works to stop Kit. However, by turning Sage off, Kit’s body woke up as well and so he was freed. Eggman tried to stop him, but he escaped. Surge helped Eggman get out of a sticky situation and went after Kit. …and that’s where I am now. That was a lot, sorry. I just figured I’d bring you up to speed. For my next OC thingymabobber, do you want me to just list out all my OCs? Bring you more up to speed?
