(lore) For over two decades, the Finnish Commonwealth had stood as the dominant force in the world, forged from the ashes of the old empire. It was a republic, a state run by its generals, admirals, and industrial leaders—efficient, and strong, but without a true monarch. Yet, history has a way of reclaiming what was once lost. The Emperor had returned. From exile, hidden in the depths of space, Emperor Simo IV had watched, waiting for the right moment to reclaim his throne. With the support of elite officers still loyal to the old ways, he launched Operation Valkyrie, a swift and brutal military campaign aimed at dismantling the ruling Commonwealth Council. (The Short Civil War) (this happened right after the ultrafedalists won the civil war.) The Commonwealth’s forces were divided. Some, loyal to the old monarchy, immediately declared allegiance to the Emperor. Others, unwilling to bow to a single ruler, resisted. In the streets of Helsinki, once the heart of the empire, tanks rolled and artillery fire shattered the silence. The 3rd Armored Division, still loyal to the council, dug in at key positions, but they were no match for the returning Royalist Shock Troopers—veterans of the Emperor’s hidden legions. At Site-01, the largest military base and prison complex, Project Solar’s security forces defected to the Emperor’s side, unleashing prototype war machines upon the Commonwealth’s defenders. The battle in orbit was just as fierce. The Imperial Fleet, bolstered by defecting captains, overwhelmed the Commonwealth’s space forces, securing dominance over the planet. After just 2 weeks of fighting, the Emperor’s forces crushed the last remnants of resistance in Valhalla Spire, the Commonwealth’s fortified headquarters. The council members who had refused to surrender were executed, their banners burned, and their legacy erased. (The Emperor’s Decree) Yet, the Emperor did not dissolve the Commonwealth. Instead, he embraced it. Standing before a sea of soldiers in New Helsinki’s Grand Plaza, he made his proclamation: “The Finnish Commonwealth has grown strong in my absence, and its strength shall not be discarded. I am not here to dismantle what we have built, but to perfect it. The Commonwealth remains—but under the rightful rule of the Emperor.” The military structure of the Commonwealth was preserved. The Navy, the Armored Corps, and the Legionary Divisions remained untouched. However, two ancient institutions were restored: The Purge Corps – A feared branch of the military police, responsible for hunting down dissenters, traitors, and political enemies. The Royal Guards emperor's personal guard force. (A New Era) The transition was swift. Dissidents were rounded up, and their influence was erased overnight. The Emperor’s loyalists, now in control of the military, solidified his rule. The Finnish Empire had been reborn—not through destruction, but through adaptation. With its fleets restored, its armies rearmed, and its people united under one banner, the empire turned its eyes outward once more. The war had ended. A new reign had begun. Monarchists were let out of prison and pardoned for trying to restore the Empire. Now members of the emporers inner circle are arguing over if we should aid to the GCC in helping the monarchists win the civil war.
All hail the emperor. (note that the president was an imperial general which is one of the reasons he was even elected in the first place is because he had ties to the emperor) In basic summary, the Monarchist rebels found the emporer and the whole army was like wait whose side are we on?... so the emporer gained power just purely through loyalty and military power in just two weeks.
