Yellowjacket lay on the ground, bleeding heavily onto the grass. She wasn't able to defeat Barkbite. Never able to find who killed her sister. Couldn't lead her group. ...And she couldn't even watch her kits grow up. She was a failure. Why had she done this? In fact, why had she done any of this? Leaving UrchinClan, becoming a loner, joining FlurryClan, getting exiled, even starting The Hive... It all seemed so...pointless in the end. All Yellowjacket could think of was the truth she knew all along. She was a monster. A failure. A villain. ...A coward. But... For the first time, Yellowjacket didn't try to deny it. Push the blame on someone else, or try and cover it up. It was just...a fact. And that hurt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- A kit sat sadly on the shores of UrchinClan, staring into the vast ocean. She was upset, leaving camp was the one thing she didn't want to risk. But she had to do it for her sister, didn't she? Did that kit know her sister wouldn't survive the journey? Or that her entire life would change? ...For the worse? The young kit turned to the grown cat standing behind her, bleeding heavily from the neck. "What did we die for?" She said, turning around with confusion in her eyes, desperate for an answer. The grown cat stiffened, for she did not have one. "I...I don't know." And as the young kit faded away and bright shores turned to dark murky wood, the bleeding cat repeated it again in a silent choked whisper. "...I don't know."
Afterword: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It really hurt me to write this. Many may know this, but Yellowjacket was my first Generations character. Ever. And she certainly won't be the last. She was a complicated character, to say the least, and I think I did well roleplaying her for a first character. Whenever that safety fail hit UrchinClan and I snuck her out of camp, I was terrified for her life. Now look where we are. Yellowjacket died at 20 moons on March 24th, 2025, with 21 fighting and 20 stealth. She died fighting, a way I always wanted her to go out. It seemed fitting, seeing how that was how she spent most of her life. You'll surely see her again, wandering around the dark forest and causing shenanigans. In fact, she might even get a term as leader some day! This is not the last you'll see of me in Generations either. Just saying, Murk and Bumble aren't her only kits she had in her life...;) Maybe you should expect something interesting in about a day or two.
