MINI SIRENS ARE TESTED EVERY FIRST AND THIRD MONDAYS AT NOON CENTRAL TIME, AND ARE SOUNDED FOR THE IOWA STATEWIDE TORNADO DRILL AT 9:55 AM(watch signal) AND AT 10 AM(warning signal). IF YOU HEAR SIRENS NOT ON A TEST DAY OR STATEWIDE DRILL DAY, TAKE SHELTER AND TUNE INTO MEDIA. SIRENS ARE SOUNDED FOR(severe weather-related): WATCHES(3 MINUTE STEADY/ALERT) WARNINGS(3 MINUTE ATTACK/WAIL, MAY BE EXTENDED TO 6-10 MINUTES IF NEEDED). TESTS: 3 MINUTE ALERT AND ATTACK. SIRENS ARE NOT SOUNDED FOR ADVISORIES UNLESS IN VERY RARE OCCASIONS.
