#06–The Seaside Sanitorium (prologue) Table of contents: 01. Intro and story 02. Mechanics 03. Credits 01–Intro and story: Before we begin, please excuse any spelling/grammatical errors—it was very late when I wrote this! A mysterious letter from an inpatient and your own curiosity have you setting out to visit an asylum on the coast. Upon arrival, you lose consciousness. When you wake up, however, you’re greeted by the mysterious inpatient 001–J.P.—who wrote to you before. Who is she? Why does she need your help? And why does she look like a cat (for that matter, why does you look like a cat? Did you hit your head..?) Hello, everyone, and welcome to my new interactive narrative experience: The Seaside Sanatorium! This is only the prologue, so gameplay is a little sparse, but this should give you an idea of how the rest of the game will feel. All of it will take place in the asylum by the sea as you attempt to uncover the stories and lives of the inpatients there, none of whom seem to be insane in the least. Why are they all there? Who sent them away? Are they really mentally ill, or just misdiagnosed? 02–Gameplay and mechanics: To advance to the next line of dialogue, click space. When you arrive in J.P.’s room, you must hover over and then click the various items in the room to prompt dialogue. NOTE: this experience is designed to support pc, but is compatible with ios as well. 03–Credits: - all code, characters, story, and art are made by yours truly :) - the music is by Joe Hisaishi (One summer’s day) Tags: #game #narrative #story #interactive #code #coding #art #design #feral #cat #anthro #human #blue #seaside #asylum #nausea #painting #animation #gaming
