Apathy (noun) - lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern. Apathy is an odd concept. While most will depict Apathy as a lack of emotion, specific cases can create the same effect in any state of being. If one way of being is forced, either through there being no other option, or through dubious material, staying in one state and not being willing to change would count as Apathy. For example, the cookies of the Ivory Pagoda, with the acception of her disciples, either feel nothing or are constantly in one state. If we assume that cookies in this world feel the way humans do, we can assume this is not entirely by choice. But even creepier if it is. Because no emotion means that unless it is what you're locked into, you cannot suffer or express pain, you cannot love or care. And willingly giving up most If not all of your personality- is basically already dying. It could be a product of Existential Bliss- a phenomenon where, presented with something beyond you, where you know it will outlive you, some will willingly give themselves over to become part of it or to partake in its life, even if ultimately they don't make up much if it. The reasons behind it are mysterious, but it could be the case. To cause this phenomenon, something has to either be a grand cosmic horror, or equivalent to the divine.
