A stick snaps somewhere in the forest. “Amara?” I call out anxiously. “This isn’t funny, come on out. You win” I wait for a response that never comes. The crickets suddenly stop chirping, and the birds stop singing. Everything is silent. Clicking breaks the silence, one high click and one low click, followed by a whistle. “Amara, stop! You’re scaring me” Another whistle. “I’m going home!” I shout before taking off through the forest, back towards our campsite. Up ahead, something large runs into the path, about 20 paces in front of me. The creature turns its head towards me. A deer skull, glowing, yellow eyes. I let out a terror-filled scream.
