Description

Original Xenia logo: Tori Joy-Con and Google Cardboard Icons: Me Hello everyone! I wanted to announce a small project I've had in the works I've named StickDrift VR. StickDrift VR is a free open source OpenVR/SteamVR Driver for Linux to use Switch Joy-Cons as VR hand controllers! Some Q&A: Q: Why? A: I wanted to learn how to make OpenVR Driver for Hand controllers on Google Cardboard supported PC VR platforms. I have a bigger VR project in the works. Q: Why would I use this when there's Driver4VR? A: Driver4VR is paid and doesn't support Linux. It's good for all it offer's, but not worth it if you just want the Joy-Cons and a Google Cardboard. Q: Does it work with Windows? A: While it won't have a windows build at the start, it should be build-able on windows from day 1, and will have builds later down the line. Q: Can I use this as VR hands? A: Hopefully yes. The goal is you can use the shoulder buttons to control the fingers! Q: When will it come out? A: Still waiting on some answers on some things but it should come out on Github early June at the latest! I'm actually pretty far into this, I've just had some troubles here and there that need to be ironed out.
