Chapter 3 Numb. That's all that Darkstalker felt at the moment. Darkstalker saw small glimpses of the future after he told his family the two futures. He saw that his future was getting better and became good. After hearing what Clearsight said, his mind raced with a lot of thoughts ranging from what he would do if he did a spell to what Arctic would do or act if he did a spell for Vigilance. "Fathom and Indigo already had to deal with an animus dragon too far gone before but back then Fathom could use his powers," thought Darkstalker, "but now he can't, his oath to Queen Pearl won't allow him to use his powers." After a few minutes, Fathom breaks the silence. "Do you have a plan, Clearsight?" asked Fathom. Darkstalker looked at Clearsight, hoping that she did. "I do but it's going to take a long time," said Clearsight, "I'm going to try to deter Vigilance from wanting a spell." Darkstalker takes a deep breath then looks at Fathom, Indigo, and Clearsight. "Clearsight, what is the likelihood of me becoming power hungry if I gave the queen a spell?" Fathom and Indigo look at Darkstalker with shock while Clearsight looks through all of the futures where Darkstalker gives Vigilance a spell. "So you were tricking us, you were going to use your magic," said Indigo holding a spear ready to protect Fathom. "No I wasn't, I have seen my father's soul and I know that if he does any spell it might be the tipping point for him," said Darkstalker, "....for him to end up like Albatross." Nothing was said after what Darkstalker told them until Clearsight got done looking through the futures. "Okay so the likelihood of you becoming power hungry really depends on what spell Vigilance chooses," said Clearsight. "What kind of spell does Vigilance want?" asked Fathom. "Ranging from dragons being obedient to her to a shield similar to the Great Ice Wall that the Icewings have," said Clearsight. There were a few moments of silence between the four dragonets but those moments felt like an eternity. Darkstalker let out a sigh then looks at Clearsight. "I'm going to do the shield spell, don't worry, I will make sure that there is an on and off for the spell after the war," said Darkstalker. The four dragonets fly back to the palace not knowing that someone was watching them. Chapter 4 The four dragonets arrive at the castle, Fathom and Indigo head to their room in the castle while Clearsight and Darkstalker head to the throne room where Queen Vigilance is at. When Darkstalker and Clearsight get to the throne room, they bowed to Vigilance who was on her throne looking at Darkstalker and Clearsight. "Hello Darkstalker, Clearsight," said Vigilance. "Your majesty," said Darkstalker and Clearsight. After a bit, Clearsight and Darkstalker stop bowing then look at Vigilance. "Your majesty, I have thought of a spell for you," said Darkstalker. This peaked Vigilance's interest and she leans a little closer. "What kind of spell?" asked Vigilance. "A shield spell, like the Icewings have," said Darkstalker, "that would make it possible for the air team to be involved in a massive attack, if you plan for one." Both dragonets see Vigilance put a talon on her chin, thinking about Darkstalker's proposal. After a while, Vigilance puts her talon down then looks at Darkstalker. "I agree with the spell," said Vigilance, "however I will go with you to see you cast the spell." This made Darkstalker mentally curse because he wanted to do the spell without the queen being there. Darkstalker and Clearsight bow once more then head to Clearsight's room. When they react there, Clearsight closes the door and looks at Darkstalker with worry. "How are you going to hide the on and off part of the spell if Vigilance is going to be there?" asked Clearsight. "We can ask Fathom or my dad, both know more about animus magic than I do," said Darkstalker. Clearsight looks through the futures really quick then looks at Darkstalker. "Ask Fathom," said Clearsight, "your dad would be suspicious then he will realize which will make him either do the spell or be really worried about you." Darkstalker nods his head then they both leave to head to Fathom's room in the castle.
