Instructions

Schrodikin is an alterhuman term, where you either: 1- involuntarily identify as something/one but also don't identify as it/them 2- involuntarily don't identify as something/one but also don't /not/ identify as it/them or any other experience of involuntarily simultaneously being something/one and also not. You might fluctuate between different ways of experiencing schrodikinity (as in, identifying and also not, not identifying but non not identifying, etc.), or not. What you experience this towards is called a schroditype, similar to the terms kintype, theriotype, fictotype, linktype, and hearttype. The plural for the term schrodikin is also schrodikin, similar to otherkin, otherlink, and fictionkin. You can count is as therianthropy/otherkinity/fictionkinity or not, depends on the person. Etymology: the "schrodi" prefix comes from the schrodingers cat thought experiment, where Erwin Schrodinger (in order to prove that a different scientific theory was stupid, amusingly) said that a cat in an opaque box with something which will kill the cat if an atom decays, could be considered both alive and dead until observed, similar to how schrodikin is both identifying and not identifying as something. The "kin" suffix comes from the terms otherkin, fictionkin, conceptkin, objectkin, plantkin, copingkin, and similar, in this case meaning identifying as. As otherkin, ficitonkin, copingkin, etc., "kin" can be swapped out for "kind"- otherkin was originally called otherkind, before someone dropped the "d". Please give me symbol ideas :praying: It can also be combined with other terms, like cambikin ( you might fluctuate between being schrodikin and otherhearted to that thing/person, and being a therian/otherkin/fictionkin to it.), otherlink (being schrodikin and voluntarily fully identifying as that thing/person), otherhearted (being schrodikin and otherhearted to something/one), or you could even identify as something/one in one way, and simultaneously identify and not identify as the same thing/person in a different way. Related terms and subterms: Schroditherian / schroditherianthrope: Simultaneously identifying and not identifying as or not identifying but not /not/ identifying as an animal. Schrodificto/schrodifiction: Simultaneously identifying and not identifying as or not identifying but not /not/ identifying as a ficitonal character, species, location, object, plant, etc. Schrodihearted: involuntarily simultaneously identifying with and/or feeling a deep intrinsic connection to something/one. Schrodicambi: Switching between simultaneously involuntarily identifying as and not identifying as something/one, and simultaneously involuntarily identifying with and/or feeling deeply and intrinsically connected to something and also not, or not identifying but not /not/ identifying with or feeling deeply connected to something/one. Schrodilink: Voluntarily simultaneously identifying and not identifying as or not identifying but not /not/ identifying as something/one. Schrodiquoi: Simultaneously identifying and not identifying as or not identifying but not /not/ identifying as something/one, but not knowing whether it's voluntary or involuntary. Schrodifix and schrodispin: involuntarily simultaneously identifying and not identifying as or not identifying but not /not/ identifying as something/one due to a hyperfixation or a special interest. [term in need of a name]: voluntarily simultaneously identifying with and/or feeling a deep intrinsic connection to something/one and not. Basically a voluntary version of schrodihearted. [term in need of a name 2]: simultaneously fully and in every way identifying as something/one, and also not. Basically a schrodikin version of holothere. Holoschrodi or schrodiholo, maybe? [term in need of a name 3]: Simultaneously identifying with and/or feeling a deep intrinsic connection to something/one, but not knowing whether it's voluntary or involuntary. [term in need of a name 4]: Switching between simultaneously identifying as and not identifying as something/one, and simultaneously identifying with and/or feeling deeply and intrinsically connected to something and also not, or not identifying but not /not/ identifying with or feeling deeply connected to something/one, but not being sure whether it's voluntary or involuntary. [term in need of a name 5]: Switching between simultaneously voluntarily identifying as and not identifying as something/one, and simultaneously voluntarily identifying with and/or feeling deeply and intrinsically connected to something and also not, or not identifying but not /not/ identifying with or feeling deeply connected to something/one.

Description

It's different from partially identifying as something. While schrodikin can partially identify as something, they are different. Partially identifying as something is "I am this, a bit", whereas schrodikin is either "I am this/I am this a bit, but also not" or "I'm not this, but I'm not not this, a bit". It's different from identifying as something in one way but not others. While you can be schrodikin and identify as your schroditype in one way and not others, they are not the same thing. Non-schrodikin who identify as something in one way and not others still identify as their altertype in that way, whereas schrodikin are both their schroditype and not, at the same time and in the same way. Someone who's not schrodikin might say that "I identify as [thing] psychologically but not physically or spiritually" whereas a schrodikin being might say "I identify as this but also don't" or "I identify as this psychologically and don't identify as it/them psychologically at the same time, and don't identify in any way as it/them spiritually or phsyically" (of course, there are more ways of identifying as something than just psychologically, spiritually or physically). It's different from sometimes identifying as something and sometimes not and fluctuating between identifying and not identifying as something. While, again, you can fluctuate either between identifying and being schrodikin to something/one, or between being schrodikin and not being something/one, or between identifying, being schrodikin to, and not identifying as it/them, they are not the same. Schrodikin is simultaneously identifying and not identifying as something- emphasis on the "simultaneously", whereas fluctuating identities can identify as something/one one day and not the next, it doesn't count as schrodikin if it's not at the same time. You could have a fluctuating identity and one of the identities you occasionally experience is schrodikin, though. This is inherently a contradictory identity, so that's neat I guess. Did I seriously make an entire term for how I feel about a fictional murder computer If ya wanna put this on a wiki, feel free. It'd be really cool to see my funky little term on one. Just don't link to my profile or mention my username- just say that the coiner would prefer not to be identified. Feel free to tell me if you have any questions, have any symbol ideas, have any name ideas for all the unnamed terms, want any more info added to this, or have anything else to say about this. I swear I missed something.
