edit (4/21): I recorded a different section this time... the cadenza! I only recorded the end of the cadenza, as I was trying to focus on the "saltando" bow technique (which I'm still working on haha). I love this part of the piece. It might be one of my favorite parts!!!! — — — — — — — — old desc below: ·˚ ༘ ┊͙ More Violin Practice (filler) ·˚ ✃ — — — — Hi! It's been a while since I've posted this kind of project. :D I know I usually don't post violin recordings, but I thought it'd be fun to do it again. My next solo performance is towards the end of May, so I wanted to practice "performing" for some audience between now and the recital. I also thought it would be nice to share some classical music with you all. :) In January, I auditioned for the all-state orchestra (after passing the regional stage), and I got in! Since all of my auditions are over, I've finally got time to start a new piece: Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto - 1st movement. I've been working on it for a few weeks (though I haven't been practicing as much as I'd like to be lol). The excerpt you are hearing right now is on the 6th page of the piece. The part after the 'slow' section is probably one of my favorite parts of the piece. I really want to animate to this part sometime haha. I still have to work on many things in this section and throughout the entire piece, but I thought I'd post this as a baseline recording so I can monitor my progress in the weeks ahead! ✃ — — — — Anyways, thanks for listening! Stay safe, stay awesome, and have a wonderful week! ✃ — — — — C R E D I T S Piece: Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor Performed by: @Alpha_Wolf_Coder (don't steal the audio - idk why you would, but I'm just putting it out there XD) Special thanks to my violin teacher for helping me and my parents for supporting my musical journey! I am very grateful. ✃ — — — — Other violin recording projects: Bruch 1st mvmt: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/954709240/ Bruch 3rd mvmt: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1020902596/ Since the Bruch 3rd mvmt project, I have played Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole (1st mvmt) and Kabalevsky's Violin Concerto (1st mvmt). ✃ — — — — Time taken: Probably 10-20 minutes to record For context though, I usually practice at least 1 hr a day. I've also been playing for roughly 10 years. Originally shared: March 10, 2025
