Instructions

I think this is my best Blender project yet! It took a while for me to make. See Notes and Credits for my process. I was inspired to design some sort of furniture from images of Blender rooms on Scratch, especially those by @Ocean-Animates . I hope you enjoy! I will try to make more projects like this.

Description

I opened a new file. I went into Sculpt and sliced chunks off the default cube until I had the tabletop. I went back into Layout. I added another cube and shrank it. I copy, pasted, and repositioned it until I had my table legs. I went into Shading. I added new textures to all the shapes. I colored them brown, and, after some messing around, found a way to add sheen. I went back to Layout. I selected all my pieces, right-clicked, and added them to a new collection called 'Table'. I centered my new table. I created a plane and resized it. I (eventually) positioned it on the table. I added a icosphere (a sphere with triangular faces). I went into Sculpt. I sliced off half of my sphere. I used the "Blob" brush to make my "sphere" taller. I decreased the brush size each time. I went back to Layout. I added a cylinder and resized it. I placed the cylinder in my "sphere", which serves as the lamp base. I moved my (soon to be) lamp onto the table. I went into Shading and colored both lamp pieces a darker brown with a slight sheen. I added my lamp pieces to a new collection, aptly named "Lamp". Back in Layout, I added a cone. When I added it, I clicked on the gray "Add Cone" menu in the lower left corner. I messed around with my radii until I had a shape with a flat top and bottom with sloping sides. I changed my number of polygons in the shape. Out of curiosity, I selected the menu regarding the shape of the base. I set the drop down menu to "Nothing", and it looked like a lampshade with the top and bottom removed! I exited the "Add Cone" menu. I centered the shade over the lamp. I made an icosphere for the lightbulb. Back in Sculpt, I Used the "Blob" brush to make it more lightbulb-y. I placed the bulb in the center of the lamp. I rendered my image using EEVEE and saved it as a PNG. TAA-DAA!!! My Blender desk!
