Maybe because it was late at night when I watched this and it was too much for me but...WHAT just happened In other words it wasn't terrible. It was actually pretty cool with a lot of puns and situational irony. But the brutality and the shift of the atmosphere in the end was jarring. To start off, I really liked the vibe with only several contestants playing. It didn't feel empty at all but a...showdown almost. The challenge was original and the prize was a main trigger point for the conflict which was neat. I wasn't surprised when Nickel got out but rip. If he stayed, the atmosphere would've been a lot more playful because he's just a goofy guy! I never actually made a project about an episode but this one shocked me. I didn't expect the brutal ending with Book. JnJ went OVERBOARD I ACTUALLY CRINGED WHEN SHE SCREAMED IN AGONY WTH. yeah, yeah it's not even that gruesome but seeing that it's a show aimed for like a 12 year old, oh man. Needle...she carried the episode imo. She was a refreshing character compared to the others. She's not my favourite character or anything, but she just made me feel happy whenever she was on screen. I also felt so bad for her because it hurt to see the shock on her face when the freesmarters recovered her. And when she closed her eyes in defeat after getting tied up, it just hit me hard. I loved her so much in the episode (mixed feelings about her mindset though lol) Fries..was a bully. He was just destroying everything for no good reason bro...he gave "Ohh I'm so tough and cool and people fear me" vibes. I didn't like him there. When he blinded book, I was so irritated omg. Yes, I'm criticising him for being egocentric. I kind of want him out. TB was...okay. He was another good character who developed the episode better. Half the time he just kept hitting his head and getting tossed around so meh. He didn't have the determined and smug aura he usually has until near the end. I hope he stays because I rly liked him! Coiny and Pin. I have no words. Pin, you were a MENACE. A MENACE LOL. The way just stared at Coiny coldly and left him was a huge red flag. I honestly don't know how JnJ can redeem her after this especially since she's "kind" later on. (It will be hard to blend in the events together so good luck lol). And the way she just SHREDDED BOOK was disturbing. In my opinion, even if she struck it unlucky the previous challenges, that's no excuse to treat others like that. She reminds me a bit of Pencil from TPOT 16...I feel bad for Coiny. When Pin died, the way he paused to see if anyone would recover her was pretty sad. He didn't deserve the lion king treatment. Book was a ray of sunshine (sort of). It was so weird to see her being a character without causing anything for once. She also deserves better. She's a decent one with a lot of potential. (Cary's voice acting for Pin was crazy good. The "THaaanks" is gold!!)
I just felt like ranting this out because Bfdia 18 just seemed so different from the other episodes. Idk, it just did for me You can agree or disagree with my opinions, I wouldn't care either way! (my finger is wrapped again so I had to use my non dominant hand haha...)
