Space or click Rip off Black Widow and NWP Lore: In December of 2005, PSLN purchased two EMD 645 prime movers from NRE in hopes of repowering two of their SD9Es. Due to PSLN's lack of experience with major rebuilds like this and lack of tools. They contracted Western Rail Inc of Washington to do the work. The locomotives were sent to their facility along with the prime movers and repowered. PSLN also gave their old prime movers to Western Rail as part of the payment. When they came back in Late February, they were in a SP Black widow style scheme with ditchlights, AC units and a chopped nose. the units are more efficient and reliable than they were before their rebuild. Crews also liked the visibility the new chop nose allowed for and the AC was happily welcomed. Note: A chop nose black widow-ish SD9 looks really sharp in my opinion.
