They are dived into multiple ranks and are lead by the strongest one in their hive. They were created by Primus to safe guard the Allspark from falling into unwanted hands so they live really close to the core of Cybertron in caves and tunnels. This makes it so that the only person who can access the Allspark is a Prime due to the Matrix being able to summon it.
