The Girl Who Cried Amethyst ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm Iris The silver medal The shadow to the spotlight The second place ribbon Sometimes even the participation award It was never enough I could always do better And that was what my parents always told me "Be like your sister!" "You wilt like an iris flower!" "A disgrace, that's what you are!" And I was always Second to my twin sister Named Primrose She cried rose quartz I cried amethyst And my parents grew sick and tired Since their insults grew only more amethysts A heap of them in my room When they came back in after I cried They took the amethysts to sell In the trading markets Sometimes I wonder If that's why they made me cry My heartless parents Blinded by greed And they sent me away To the Caribbean Islands With a mere sack Of almost stale bread And a wilting iris flower And I'll never forget what they said "It'll remind you of how you're wilting too And how you failed at life with us How you were a disgrace Like this iris flower" It was a teary night And Primrose didn't look sorry She was probably happy Now she was the one and only Golden Child "The Girl Who Cried Rose Quartz" The townspeople would say And they'd cry "The Girl Who Cried Amethyst is a disgrace!" They're all happy now I'm gone A stray With less than a penny's worth Within my grasp Away Where I should be
Based off of the legend of the girl who cried crystal tears. (It's a very intriguing legend, also my inspo for this) Here's Primrose's POV in case you don't want to scavenge my profile for it: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1142817170/
