So for 200 followers,(I'm a bit late ;u;) I decided to host my first MAP, to the song Grown Ocean by Fleet Foxes. It's a lovely song, and I've only encountered it a few times on Scratch, so have a MAP! Apologies if the parts are cut oddly; this is my first time! :RULES:: {it's quite a bit, but worth reading!} -You should have at least a bit of art or animation experience, although you don't have to be super experienced. If you're not sure about this, please link me to your best animation, art piece, or PMV. -Parts are of varying lengths! If you have a longer part, it's okay to make it a PMV or at least in a PMV format. If it is longer, you may want to include some motion as well- gliding, rotations, etc. If you have a shorter part, on the other hand, please animate! Tell me in your comment whether you plan on doing PMV, AMV, or anything in between. -Although this is an OC MAP, I'd like the focus to be mainly on the setting-plants, water, trees, rock formations, mountains, sky-but a character should be included as well. It may help if you do this in another program. As a code, please tell me a place that this song reminds you of, and a place that you want to base the setting of your part on. They can be the same place! Since the focus isn't so much on characters and stories, fandom-based OCs are alright, as long as the part isn't too visibly based on the fandom. -This is a reasonably cheerful MAP, so don't include dark themes, such as characters being possessed by demons and dissolving into a dark puddle of angst. Also, try to keep the color palettes harmonious; don't just use the Scratch default colors! If you need help, just ask me and I can link you to a few tutorials. Generally, colors should be leaning towards yellow and golden, and reasonably natural, to go with the setting-based theme. -Some themes you could include in your part are: -Loyalty to friends and family -Memories of special places -Exploration and discovery -Embarking on journeys or voyages -New days and beginnings -Return and reunion -Tell me which theme(s) you are going to use in your part. -Please limit your sprite count to 2 at most, and your backdrops to 3; but don't animate in the backdrops! Also, try to avoid forever blocks and effects, as these can cause lag. -Try and keep your coding neat! Use repeat blocks(some people don't!) and if you need to use messages, name them things like Part17-1 so that you can keep organized. -Tell me if you don't think you'll be able to finish your part. That's perfectly fine, and I'll give the part to a backup so that we'll be able to have a completed MAP! -If your part doesn't follow these rules, don't worry! I'll comment and point out what needs changing, and if you need help with editing, just ask and I'll help! Of course, if you don't want to change your part, you can drop out; or I can find a way to include it in the MAP anyways! -As in all other things, please be respectful to everyone else, and use your own art or animations!
