Yes I am finally saying something on this. Look, I don't mind when people take inspiration and use an idea to make their own thing. What DOES bother me though is when people try to fully claim it as their own. Transparency is an important thing to have, and if you follow something super close with your inspiration you should be transparent about the fact the source material is a close inspiration. What you SHOULDN'T do is claim the new idea purely as your own idea and claim the original to be a rip off when there are multiple things that prove that notion to be false. And what I've noticed is that at least a few people in KNF seem to think ANF if a rip off of KNF when in reality KNF is heavily based on ANF. This should be remedied so that people aren't believing something that objectively is not true. Also crediting people is important. (I understand that KNF is getting better at this and I will admit in my earlier years of scratch I kinda sucked at this too. But the point is that credits are important. I try to credit things when I can because that's transparency.) Also if anyone wants to talk in the comments then I will be willing. As long as your approach isn't super accusatory and rude.
