BITMAP VS VECTOR - Comparison Animation (My Cabbages!) Watch on Youtube if it crashes! (And to help my new channel out :D) https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/KYfA58ijbx4 - This actually took a really long time to make - around two weeks. I did the vector first, as an experiment, then decided to use bitmap to compare and contrast the styles. So, here it is, enjoy! - Pros and cons: Vector: Better for less motion in an animation. Once you have the character set up, its smooth sailing, and easy animating, removing the coloring step entirely! Without shading, it still can look good. On the other hand, doing alot of motion and changing shots with vector can be very time consuming. Though, in my opinion, a single vector frame looks alot better than a single bitmap frame. Bitmap: Bitmap is a go-to for.. the majority of non-osc scratch animators. Which is great, bitmap is simple and easy to handle, very straightforward. It works better with tons of motion than vector due to it just being hand-drawn animation. Though doing less motion in shots can be very annoying to trace and not get wacky, at least for me. Bitmap often looks much less pleasing compared to vector, at least in my artstyle, especially without shading or lighting. The bitty and low px can make it look very beginner at times, and simply just less pleasing. Overall, it depends on preference!! I think I might switch to vector some time soon, or not, depending on what im animating. It was fun to try something new :) - OC and animation by me Audio is from Avatar: The Last Airbender well great now i just got an idea, that two animation meme trend i wanna do that with vector and bitmap left right left right left right go! that song is so fire
