Time to get formal... So what exactly *is* Flag Band: "Malded Edition"? Well, it all originated from a certain "Countryblocks Band" project. The project misspelled "Maldives" as "Maldes", and it quickly became an in-joke amongst a friendgroup of mine. Seeing that "malding" was already a word, someone asked about a hypothetical "Flag Band: Malded Edition". And you can call me a mailman, because I'm ready to deliver. What does "mald" mean? "Malding" actually refers to the act of being mad so much that you start balding. However, in this context, it was named after the one and only "Maldes" that inspired it. The differences between Flag Band: Malded Edition and regular Flag Band are: 1) Every country's name is horribly misspelt or outright wrong. 2) In-jokes and references. The more of them, the more chaotic and confusing. 3) All the flags use oversaturated colours (unless it's for in-joke purposes), and tricolours could have gradients instead of actual stripes. The flag designs may not even need to be consistent across bands. They can even be wrong. 4) The band can break music theory. None of this is serious, after all. It also does not need to be consistent with regular Flag Band. 5) Fictional countries are allowed. [[FOR EXCEPTIONS TO THESE, PLEASE READ THE REDLIST AND BLACKLIST.]] Just like regular Flag Band, this isn't a "one canon" thing. Everyone can "mald" Flag Band in their own way. Go on, completely ditch music theory in the garbage bin. Or "fix" it. It's up to you, really. Just don't do anything offensive and you're good.
