"...dad?" Moon immediately sat up. He had fallen asleep kneeling next to the bed. He looks at Veronica as she looks at him. And when she spoke again, the crack in her voice made his heart shatter. "D-Dad..." Moon immediately hugged her, holding her close. She hugs back, shaking and crying and whispering "I'm sorry" over and over. Hold on....why was she apologizing? Moon pulls back, confused. "Sorry? For what?" "I saw everything. All of it. From the separation until now." Moon froze. She...she was his and Sun's past? "I...I still don't understand why you're apologizing..." Veronica hugs him again. "You both went through so much...you're both good people and didn't deserve that." Moon sighs. He wasn't really a good person. He thought about what K!||3r Sun had said... "Dad...I know what you're thinking..." She smiles reassuringly. "You're a good person, dad. I wouldn't call you my dad if you weren't." Moon felt tears well up in his eyes as he hugged Veronica, feeling closer to his daughter now more than ever.
Ah, nothing like a bit of angst with comfort. Also, I'll be offline most of today, I have a field trip and then a D&D campaign after school
