Q1: What's your favourite genre/genres? A: Fantasy, action, adventure Q2: Have you ever finished writing a story? A: I've finished a few books, but never an entire series Q3: First person POV, second person POV, or third person POV? A: First POV is what I use for SLL; third POV I use for TR/other works Q4: Do you have a favorite author? If so, who? A: J.R.R. Tolkien, Kazu Kibuishi, the Erins Q5: Do you want to be a writer when you're older? A: buh I already am /j Q6: Do you have any advice for writers? If so, what is it? A: idk, don't plan out your book too much or you'll leave little room to improvise/explore the book as you write Q7: When it comes to writing, are you a perfectionist? A: kinda, tho I miss typos from time to time Q8: Have you shared a story on scratch before? A: many (if you count comics). The Renegade is likely my most famous example, but other stories I've written on here include Legendary, Seven Lost Lords, Dynamite, and a short story called Voice Box Q9: What's your favourite plot structure? (7 point plot structure, hero's journey plot structure, etc) A: I like the hero's journey as I'm most familiar with it, but I don't like it all being linear and predictable. Normally I try to make my series super long so I can reach my full potential Q10: What's your inspiration? A: Kazu Kibuishi inspired me when I was 7-8 to make comics. C.S. Lewis inspired me to write fantasy novels Q11: Do you like making graphic novels/comics? A: YES. 100%. I plan to become a comic artist full-time when I reach a high enough status. Obviously I'll have to work other jobs in the meantime until I can sustain myself (Burger King and future salesman job with my dad go brr) Q12: Poetry, or story writing? A: Story writing. I'm not too fond of poetry, and if I'm writing something rhythmical then I usually write songs instead Q13: Fiction or non-fiction? A: Fiction; occasionally satire Q14: What's your favourite book/series? A: Comic is Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi. Novel... either Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Warriors by Erin Hunter, or Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan. Q15: Do you believe in writers block? A: YES. Even if I know what I'm going to write, I occasionally have a hard time going about it. In fact as of right now I'm having a bit of it while writing ch. 33 of SLL. Q16: What about reader's block? A: Nah, not really. Q17: Do you like putting references in your stories? (references to other books, a movie, songs, etc) A: Occasionally. In the SLL novel Aven makes a reference to the Hulk in ch. 2 (i.e. “Okay, I’m in SERIOUS trouble here. If that dude just watched somebody turn into The Hulk from Build-A-Bear and didn’t even react, imagine how he’ll act if he finds out I have absolutely NO magic! I need to get out of here.”) Q18: Do you like writing chapter books? A: YES
Q19: Realistic fiction or unrealistic fiction? A: idk, unrealistic Q20: Have you ever written a character based on someone in real life? A: Starblade, Virtue, and Aven are all based off of myself. Maybe even Frostbite to some extent. Q21: Do you give MBTI personality types to your characters? A: not really Q22: Writing in a notebook or writing on google docs? A: google docs Q23: What do you think is the best thing for someone to do when they get writers block? A: step back and take a break. occasionally read through what you have so far and brainstorm. "what would happen next? how do the characters react?" Q24: When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? A: since I was little. like a preschooler Q25: Do you have a lot of OCs? A: TONS. most of them are old and unused, but I have quite a few I still use Q26: Do you have a lot of stories you are writing? A: atm, roughly three. TaDGA and TR are on hiatus; SLL is what I'm focusing on Q27: What's the most difficult part of planning a story? A: starting. Q28: Do you do journaling? A: nope Q29: Do you write in one specific way/theme, or lots of different ways/themes? e.g. fantasy, third person, non-fiction, first person, second person, fiction, etc A: I vary between 1st and 3rd POV, but I usually stick to action/fantasy Q30: Do you find it hard to write the first chapter/ prologue? A: YES Q31: Have you drawn your characters before? A: a billion times Q32: Have you roleplayed with your characters before? A: occasionally *sweats nervously* Q33: Do you think you take way too long planning what to write instead of actually writing? A: sometimes Q34: What's your favourite part when editing? A: I don't usually edit, believe it or not. 99% of my stuff is first-try, first draft Q35: What's your least favourite part when editing? A: again, don't usually edit Q36: How long have you been writing? A: since I was little (if you count comics) Q37: Have you tried writing in a new way before? A: I started writing songs roughly 5 or 6 months ago Q38: What, in your opinion, is the most fun theme to write about? (not genre. A theme is like war, coming of age, good vs evil, family, etc) A: currently writing redemption, coming of age, familial ties, stuff like that. Q39: Have you written characters with sad backstories? A: *flashbacks to Venge, Aspect, Furi, Meredith, Christina* Q40: Have you ever written yourself in a story? A: Unfortunately, not counting Virtue (self insert), yes. Summoned Through Steel had an idealized Mary-Sue version of myself and frankly the story sucked. Concept was okay, but horribly executed. (semi sci-fi vikings wage war against dwarves in a dystopian replica of Earth) Q41: Do you usually unintentionally make a side character more interesting than a main character? A: Sometimes, but not too often. I don't have any examples atm Q42: Have you ever written a character as something other than a human? A: most of my characters are anthros Q43: Have you ever written the main character as the villain before? A: I don't think so Q44: What's your favourite things to put in stories? (things you personally find entertaining to read/write) A: fight scenes, redemption arcs, world-building Q45: Have you written romance before? A: Yes, though the first time I wrote it correctly was in The Renegade Q46: Do you put life lessons in your stories? A: I don't try too hard, but there are some meaningful morals in SLL for sure Q47: What's your favourite character from a book? A: Leon Redbeard from Amulet (I need to draw him), Jayfeather from Warriors Q48: Writing or drawing? A: both, whatchu mean bruh Q49: Writing or reading? A: writing Q50: Have you written a main character as the complete opposite of you before? A: Aspect & Hansen. The other main characters I can think of (Dynamite, Starblade, Aven and Dodo) are all based off of myself in some way, shape or form.
