We will share our cringiness with the world! Join the cringe revolution, make your own "cringy" characters for the world to see! I didn't put effort into the art for this project, and might have misspelled some words because st is strict
the following is written by @typhooneanimates --- "Cringe culture" and attacking people online for being unrealistic? No. The online art community- not just on Scratch, but everywhere- has a big problem with standards they deem "cringe". Look at the drawing I made on this project. Does it seem cringe? Don't lie to yourself, it does. Now, would you have thought this drawing was cringe if you'd seen it before knowing the standards of the online art community? Probably not. To those running around making projects and rants shaming people for doing what they love, and making edgy OCs, and listening to emo music: no. Didn't ask. Go away. Seriously, let people do what they want to do. Sure, if you really think someone is being cringe or annoying with their OC, you can have a little chuckle to yourself. But you don't need to make a whole essay about why this person's constant venting is edgy and annoying. The online art community is FULL of hormonal, sad teenagers. Expect people to be this way. It's NORMAL, not CRINGE. And in the end, it shouldn't even matter to you. This isn't your problem, it's just someone's character or music taste or feelings. It's how they express themself. Now, if you REALLY dislike these "cringe" things, just don't indulge. Keep your business out of these peoples' lives, and make your own OCs to your personal liking. To those receiving hate or seeing rants about how you're doing everything wrong and bad: no. That's not true. This is your own life, live it the way you want to. Someone comments "ahahaha Mary-Sue" on one of your OC refs? Delete it. Someone makes a rant about "evil and edgy OCs are cringe"? Don't read it. Yes, it's hurtful when someone tries to put down your personal preferences, but if you think your OC is awesome, don't let someone else change that. Your OC is super cool and YOU made that coolness, so you love them for it. Who cares what those whiners comment? It's YOUR character, not theirs! If they want to spend their lives complaining about how everyone else sucks, that's their problem. I admit, I'm guilty of thinking of others as cringe, but I don't say anything, and I've been trying to change my standards and views of others. Posting vents? That's fine, I do that a lot! "Mary-sue" OCs? Yeah, I got those! Cringe music? It's fun! Anyways, cheesy message, but: be yourself, if people want to tell you who to be, too bad, because they're not getting that version of you.
