Springy's original code name was unknown, but we do know that he was not originally a creation of Dr. Robotnik. He was developed by a group of scientists and mechanics. One of these scientist was named Tobias. He saw Springy as his creation, his child. He genuinely cared for him, aswell as his other creations. Eventually, during a battle between Sonic and Robotnik, the lab was almost entirely destroyed, with most of the scientists and mechanics dying, with the notable exception of Tobias. Robotnik was forced to flee, but not before convincing (*cough* manipulating *cough*) Tobias into coming with him with his surviving creations. That way, they may be able to get revenge on Sonic for the destruction and death that he apparently caused. Tobias didn't really care all that much for revenge, though he was mad, but he came along anyway. In Robotnik's aerial base, they continued to work on Springy and Tobias' other creations, with Tobias more or less being forced to. Eventually, however, the Aerial base exploded due to a power failure. Robotnik was left alive, but Tobias went MIA, and their remaining surviving creations scattered across the sky. Springy's containment capsule landed within a forest, breaking upon impact with the ground and releasing him. He awakened, with basically none of his memories and quite a bit of damage. He wandered around the forest for a bit before coming across Limez's hole in the ground, where he encountered her for the first time. That's all for now!
For any of you confused, Limez is @AmyRose_thesofthog09's OC and considers Springy to be his little brother, and Tobias is just a placeholder name tbh. I'm still working on stuff.
