Instructions

== IMPORTANT NOTE == Scratch is having trouble with my new drawings from Inkscape. I've narrowed down why it occurs, but I can't seem to fix it. Therefore, some symbols may not be added (specifically ones with holes in them) until this is resolved. Space will show a random character from each set, e or green flag will show a new example. Currently contains: 34 letters, 2 symbols, 3 -ations. If you are using the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) in your project, you may have noticed you can't type them in the textbox. Have no fear! Simply backpack the sprites here, add some slashes, then place the characters inside! Resize and recolor as needed, no credit required. An example is provided in the project. Credit to: - DejaVu Sans - font - Inkscape - being awesome and letting me convert - Wikipedia - IPA tables and characters == How did you do this? == I typed out a character in the font in Inkscape, then I used Path -> Object to Path. That converted the character from text to a path, which Scratch supports. == Why don't I have to credit you? == You can if you want, but I didn't really do anything special. I just took stuff from a font that was already there and made it work on Scratch. == A character I need isn't here! == Ask for it in the comments. I can't add every IPA character ever, but if you specifically need one it's very easy. (Please provide the name or symbol if possible, it makes it much easier) == How long do requests take? == Not too long, assuming everything goes OK. == What order are you making these in? == I'll put suggestions above everything else, but other than that there's no real order. I do prefer those that can't be easily replicated with English letters (see ŋ, ʃ, and ð) over English letters in the IPA (see m, w, and t). == How are they sorted? == No particular order, cuz Scratch costume rearranging is a pain. == What do these costume names mean?! == They're just the fancy official names for the sounds. Unless you're a linguist, they probably won't matter much to you. If you need to look up the sounds, use an IPA table for your language or look the symbol up on Wikipedia (that's another reason the name is there). == How can I recolor the characters? == Due to the way Scratch handled the Inkscape imports, you'll have to use the Node Tool (the circle draggy-thingy), set the line thickness to the thinnest, then use the fill tool. == Changelog == 29 Dec 2017 - Rediscovered this project, corrected the glottal stop being a symbol and added ˑ, ɾ, ɳ, ɲ, ɧ, and ħ. 13 Jan 2017 - Added ɒ, ɕ, ɚ, ɪ, ɔ, ɹ, ʂ, ʌ, ʐ, ʰ, and ʷ, as well as another example. 12 Jan 2017 - Initial release with ɐ, ɑ, ɛ, ə, ɨ, ø, œ, ʊ, ʏ, ɱ, ŋ, ʁ, ʃ, ð, θ, ʒ, ʔ, ː, ʲ
