Plhfffhhh... I've had this one for a while, it was a test animation for an intelligent race in one of my projects. It was meant to be of them switching to and from their aquatic morph and land morph, but because the animation tactic I used didn't have onion skinning, it ended up looking really choppy. I don't like it, but I figured I might as well share it because I have nothing better to do. I've got a lot of other animations like it, most better, some worse. Let me know if you'd like to see any.
These are the Telerians, a race of amphibious invertebrate sophont. They come from the planet Tele (pronounced Teh-lay), a super Earth orbiting a binary star system. One of the stars in the system is a red dwarf, the red light of which heavily favors trichromat vision among its inhabitants. Telerians are a semi aquatic race convergent on mollusks. They are incredibly advanced, and have terraformed multiple planets for their own habitation. They possess no bones, but six fleshy limbs, with the front most being used for object manipulation. They are notable for their extensive use of genetic engineering, especially among their own species. They began as coastal scavengers, eventually increasing in intelligence to the point of building a civilization. They resemble mollusks to a certain extent, and they are amphibious. Lacking bones, they can flatten and contract their limbs into fin-like structures, as shown here. Okay, they don't quite lack bones. There are structures comparable to a ribcage made of dentin in their sides. While they have notochords, they do not have a spine. #speculativeevolution
