"Time for bed, kiddo." My father turned off my lights and left the room. I have a dome-shaped sky roof, since my bedroom was the top floor of our observatory. The stars looked like tiny specks of light that lit up the pitch-black night sky. I always loved the night. The way the stars glowed in harmony, how the moon shone in the darkness, and the clouds drifting through the sky. It truly was a beautiful sight. Today, however, was an unusual sleep. A sleep that changed my life. My eyelids locked shut quicker than usual. Even when I was 'asleep', I was somehow functioning differently than usual. It was almost as if someone was messing with my brain. Before I could comprehend or begin to understand this situation, I heard a faint voice. "Over here! Help! Come to me! Follow my voice!" A female voice cried in distress. "Please. Please follow it! Please help! Please come to me!" It was too much for my brain to understand. Why was this happening? And this didn't feel like a dream. It didn't look like one either. This was different. I was trapped in pitch black darkness. I wasn't in my room, but I wasn't anywhere else with my /physical/ body. I ran around frantically, not quite understanding how I could run in a way that wasn't physical. I couldn't touch or see anyone, or anything. It was all black darkness. I couldn't even feel air. It was hard to describe, but there weren't a single feel in the world. It was like wherever I was seemed numb, somehow. Not me, but the space I was located in. I heard the distressed voice cry a plea again. Louder, this time. I needed to help whoever was there. I couldn't leave them in the darkness of wherever I was. I knew I wouldn't want to stay there forever either. And then I wondered: what if with two brains we'd make it out faster than just one? Of course we would! I ran around in the middle of nowhere helplessly, hearing the voice get louder or fainter. "I'm over here! I see you!" I heard the faint voice again. I took two steps closer to the voice. I then saw the first thing in the area I was in. It sounds ironic, but it really was the first pair of atoms I'd seen since I'd been trapped. A black cloud of smoke drifted past me, revealing a nervous figure of a young girl. She even looked around my age. She had sparkling green eyes, wavy but silver hair, rosebud lips, and wore a lavender dress with clouds on it. The clouds looked so realistic that they looked as if they could drift off the dress and be part of the sky. At this reminder, I looked up, hopingto see a breathtaking night sky. All I saw darkness and nothingness. At this, the girl stepped forward and curtsied. "I'm Mage, and I see you're wondering about the sky? We're in your mind, not in the world. This is your mental self." Surprised that she guessed correctly, I nodded and replied in a feeble voice. "I'm....Auria." I shifted my feet and fidgeted with my hands; a nervous habit. She nodded slowly, as if her mind was trying to comprehend it all. "Can you explain why we're here?" I decided to start talking again, so we wouldn't pass out of awkwardness. "Oh, yes. You're a dreamative. I know this is all unusual, but you're a part of our world. A name like Auria means you're the lost princess!" Mage exclaimed, looking rather ecstatic she'd found me. I was a lost /princess/? Sure, I was lost; but a princess? And what was a dreamative? "I have sooooo many questions." I said, warning Mage that I needed a lot of answers. "Try me." "What's a dreamative?" "It means you're one of us. You live in the dreamworld. Get ready to feel like you're falling into nothingness. I'm taking you to our palace. Well, /your/ palace. Try not to freak out." The last words Mage said made me freak out. A lot. I screamed and screeched the entire time; not that it took too long, but it was quite the fall. I could've sworn I'd broken about six different bones, torn all my muscles, and shattered the nerves in my hand into miniscule pieces. Thankfully, I didn't have to suffer the pain, because a sweet smell was held at my nose, and then........... Wisps of wind cooled my face, awakening me to a hospital room. It seemed like a human hospital room, but with a dreamy essence to it. I didn't understand how this world worked. It still wasn't the same as a dream. "She's awake! The cloudzifier worked!" Another voice cried. My eyes were blurry when they opened, but there were too many faces to wake up to. I sat up slowly, my vision steadying quicker than I expected. After I became strong enough, all of the royal government of the dreamworld explained to me my true identity, how I needed to resume my life, and everything in between. Turns out, I /was/ Auria the lost princess of the dreamworld, and I'd been lost for eight years. I was twelve, which means someone snatched and hid me away at four years old.

Description

Someone from their gang washed my memories from existence so well, nothing and no one could trigger them back other than the most powerful and ancient dreamworkers; of which there were very few. My mother was Queen Janelyn, and my father was King Heritz. And when I met them, they immediately brought me into a warm family hug, and I felt a strong connection to them. I even looked like them more than my human parents, and I'd always wondered why I looked different than them. I had my father's crystal blue eyes and my mother's long, silky hair, but mine was black. My facial features were more like my mother's, though, with sharp and elegant features, while I took on my hair color and eye color from my father. My hair was unusual, as dark and pure as the night sky. You could even see stars in it, now that I was in the dreamworld! After a few months of settling in to my new world, I never went back to my old human life. I checked on my old family through our dreamcatchers, which had the power to catch sight of anyone at that moment, no matter what species they were, without them knowing. My palace was huge, akin to the ones in fairytales I was told as a "human". The clouds were pink and blue and purple and orange- not to mention the dreamy and breathtaking view of the night sky and stars. My mother and father requested a special dome shaped roof on the top floor, which was my room. They didn't have to, but it was a really sweet gesture of them to remind me that my human family was always there. I bonded with my long lost parents and met new people as the princess. Turns out, Mage was on a mission to find me and trap me inside my own subconsciousness in my mind so they could take me to the dreamworld. People in the dreamworld had many abilities, and Mage's was mindwork. Washing memories was memowork, and I had the power of viswork, which was the ability to dissapear and reappear as I would've liked. The ability was given to me during my ability ceremony; a few days after I'd adjusted to my new life. Me and Mage grew close over the years as she guided me through my new life. I was having the best time ever with Mage, my new friends Giana and Harli, my new family, and people of my kingdom. The fun and dreaminess never ended. Turns out, I had a private ability mentor, to help me train my abilities as a visworker. We studied subjects such as Dreamworld History, Multispecies Studies, Elemental Alchemy, and Dual Ability Understanding. Those were our core classes. Dreamworld History was pretty straightforward; the history of the Dreamworld. Multispecies Studies was to help understand other species, and I excelled at the unit on humans. Elemental Alchemy helped make potions and elixirs, while Dual Ability Understanding helped us understand other abilities that weren't ours. During the sessions they taught an ability we had, we'd just get a bonus class with our ability mentors. I was a dreamative- a citizen of the dreamworld. And that was what I was for the rest of my life. I really liked my old life, and I really liked my new one too. The truth, though, was that I belonged among the other dreamatives; with King Heritz and Queen Janelyn(my beloved parents), Mage, Giana, Harli, and with my people. That was where I belonged, and where I was meant to be. It was where I lived now, and continued my life in after. I belonged in the dreamworld, and that was where I'd be for the rest of my life. ------------------------------THE END------------------------------
