TW:This is going to be one cringy chapter :P Amberheart's POV ════════════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════════════ Amberheart followed Dovestorm as they hiked farther away from BreezeClan territory. They had to hide their scents, so the clan wouldn't know that they were together. After a while of walking, they reached a large thick oak tree. "Follow me!" Dovestorm called. He slid out his claws and leaped onto the tree. "But I don't know how to climb!" Amberheart called back. "I'll show you!" Dovestorm mewed. "First, slide out your claws, then you leap onto the tree." he said. Amberheart slid out her claws and leaped onto the tree. Her claws snagged into the bark, a few scraps crumbled away from beneath her. "W-w-woah..." she mewed. "You're doing great! Now gather your strength, and jump onto the next branch!" he mewed back. Amberheart did what he told her to do. They climbed until they reached the top. "Wow..." Amberheart breathed. She had never seen a sight so pretty. The moon was so huge and the stars seemed closer than ever. "Beautiful isn't it?" Dovestorm said. Amberheart nodded. "It definitely is." said Amberheart. Dovestorm purred. "Glad you like it." Dovestorm smiled at Amberheart. She purred. After a while, Dovestorm stretched. "Let's make a makeshift nest, shall we?" Dovestorm said. Amberheart nodded. They climbed down the tree and onto the floor. "Here's some moss." Dovestorm called as he hooked his claws into the moss. Amberheart padded it down onto a nest big enough for both of them. "I'll go catch some prey," he mewed and went off. Amberheart sighed in relief. "You really don't care do you?" called a voice. Amberheart turned around to see a stary figure. "Ravenstar? Is that you?" mewed Amberheart. She turned around. "It is me, did you not hear the prophecy I warned you about?" spat Ravenstar. "You and Dovestorm were not supposed to sneak off. This is bad..." he flicked his tail at Amberheart. "I'm not ignoring it, I just don't know what it's supposed to mean!" Amberheart protested. "Do I have to do everything by myself around here?" Ravenstar slid out his claws and started clawing the ground. "You and Dovestorm cannot be together!" snapped Ravenstar. "Leafheart was supposed to have kits with Dovestorm, not you!" he hissed and slid out his claws and scratched Amberheart's cheek. Amberheart winced as Ravenstar scowled and faded into the night. Amberheart whimpered in pain and picked up a herb and chewed it. She put the ointment onto the now bleeding scratch that was in her face. "I'm back!" Dovestorm purred. He was carrying a plump bird in his jaws. Amberheart set her thoughts aside and walked up to Dovestorm. He set the bird down and crouched beside Amberheart and took a bite. After they finished eating, they curled up in their makeshift nest that Dovestorm had made. "Should we run away together?" mewed Dovestorm. Amberheart nodded. All she wanted right now was to be with Dovestorm forever.
