"In 1969, Avans LTD began constructing some high-speed diesel locomotives for Doline Rail's recently opened high-speed network. They were able to go up to speeds of 138 mph making them the fastest high-speed diesel trains during that time. 60 trainsets were built between 1969-1975. Withdrawals soon took place from 1985 to 2013 after 43 complete years in service. Several units alongside a few complete trainsets have been preserved.
