On a warm summer day in 2019, DCRC SW1001s 1004, 1002 and 1000 lead a train over the Weber Creek Trestle just outside of Placerville. The train had switched the Camino Transload Facility and picked up a few loaded cars. The train's next stop is the Missouri Flat Transload facility where a few cars are waiting. The train will then go to Polk yard via UP trackage rights where the crew will cut off the cars and tie down the power. 1002 is a favorite amongst crews and railfans due to it's patriotic scheme. Painted in 1976 for the bicentennial of the United States and also being given the 1776 road number. The locomotive was renumbered in the mid 90s but wasn't repainted. The locomotive had gotten pretty faded and rusted by the 2010s so in 2018 DCRC gave it a fresh new paint job. It wasn't exactly a restoration but more as a refresh. It lost some of it's original decals but kept the basic design.
