We are putting our Grumman aircraft and Grumman-related artifacts in this hangar, as a tribute to Leroy Grumman, co-founder of the famous Grumman Aircraft Corporation, and his contributions to the United States. The aircraft in this hangar will be our F3F, F4F-3, F6F-5, F7F, and our two F-14s. All aircraft will have their own rooms (except for the F-14s, which will obviously share a room), and have their own environment and topics. The Lobby will have various models and artifacts discussing the overall history of Leroy Grumman and the company. The F3F will be on a mid-to-late 30's era carrier, and there will be information discussing early aircraft from Grumman. The F4F-3 will be on a carrier sometime between 1941-1943, and will discuss the early events of the war in the Pacific, along with the F4F's versatility. The F6F-5 will be on the USS Bunker Hill in 1945, and will discuss the later events of the war in the Pacific, and the F6F itself. The F7F will be on a USMC airfield in Korea, and will discuss the entirety of the Korean War, the beginning of the jet age, the F7F, and Grumman's vision of a two engined fighter. The F-14s will be on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in the 80s, and will discuss Grumman's jets, the slow fall of Grumman as a manufacturer, the F-14, its involvement in the media, Top Gun, and the Northrop Grumman merger.
