The salty smell of the beach wafted through the wind. A wind in the night that ruffled through the ginger fur of a PyroClan cat. It was the middle of the night, and most cats were asleep, but not all. Crumblecrush sat in the sand at the beach, admiring the moon. He was thinking about the ceremony that had happened today. His kits had become apprentices! That was exciting enough on it's own, but as it turns out Crumblecrush was to mentor Burntkit- no, BurntPAW now. He couldn't have asked for a better first apprentice! It had been so exciting, of course, and he was so proud of his kits. But he was also scared. He'd be able to keep a good eye on Burntpaw, being his mentor, but who knows what could happen to the other three if their mentors weren't good enough? They were growing up so quickly, and so far there hadn't been any huge disaster, but surely something like that was bound to happen any day now. Crumblecrush made a mental note to give each of their mentors a good lecture about responsibility. He tried to shake the worries from his head and instead admired the small pile of treasures by his paws. For about a quarter moon before his kits' apprentice ceremony, Crumblecrush had been on a major accessory hunt. His necklace from Blazingthorn meant the world to him, and he wanted his family to have the opportunity to have something similar. Crumblecrush had found Crispypaw's gift from sheer luck. He had been keeping an eye out for anything that matched his orange pelt, of course, but the wing of a butterfly had never crossed his mind. He had found it floating in the wind while on a walk, and quickly snatched it for his kit. Charredpaw had been the easiest to think of an idea for. He adored flowers, and from the moment Crumblecrush had thought of this idea, he knew that Charredpaw would want flowers more than anything else. But that was easier said than done, living in PyroClan. He knew from experience that it would be easier to keep an eye out for flowers at Gatherings than actively look for them in PyroClan territory. And sure enough, that had worked perfectly! Last Gathering, he found a pair of yellow dandelions that just screamed Charredpaw's name to Crumblecrush. Burntpaw's had also been found at the Gathering. While looking for Charredpaw's dandelions, Crumblecrush had stumbled into a bush of blueberries! He had immediately imagined how well they would matched Burntpaw's blue eyes and snagged a bundle. (He actually snagged two. Crumblecrush's own eyes were also blue, after all...) Come to think of it, Crumblecrush had found most of the kits' accessories at the Gathering. He had found Crunchykit's on the return trip home from the Gathering. Crunchy oak leaves- they had probably drifted his way from SeaClan territory- sounded like the perfect fit for Crunchypaw. And of course, the pearl necklace for Blazingthorn. Now this one had been difficult. Crumblecrush had been searching for the perfect gift for his mate for MOONS. It still... wasn't quite ready yet. But he had a plan, involving vague connections in SeaClan in order to get a pearl. Hopefully it would actually happen this time. He wished he could give it to her alongside the gifts for his kits, but just telling her about it would have to do for now. He sighed happily and decided it was time to go to bed. He scooped up the trinkets in his jaw and headed back to camp. All this growing-up business was stressful, but it was so exciting. Crumblecrush couldn't wait to see what wonderful cats his kits would grow into. And to celebrate, he would give them all their gifts tomorrow. - - - OOC note: Crispycrumb family! I've finally gotten around to having Crumblecrush give his family accessories, hooray! It will totally happen again. You can include them in your cats refs but no pressure if you don't want to! If you do, you can change their colors or shape from the way I drew them, just keep the concept the same, I'd also be willing to do a thread of Crumblecrush giving any kit their accessory, or telling Blazingthorn about the pearl necklace teehee Song: Life Goes By by almost monday
