Instructions

DT with @CocoaBeane and an extra little How To bc why not. Steps to make a custom! 1. Have moodboard and write down everything you think of when you see it. Make sure to include what species to draw, and something to make it unique in this pile of ideas. I like to add an emotion for funsies. 2. Sketch it out. Make it different, don’t do a basic pose. That’s boring. 3. Make lineart. I changed it a bit from the original hehe. 4. Color the head, and JUST the head. Go ham, but this will dictate the rest of you design. See why below. 5. Color the rest of the body. BUT WITH REASONING. Remember when I said just color the head? Use the basic design ideas from the head on the rest of the body. Ex. I used some circles on the head, so I did the same on the wings and leopard spots. Or the marking under the eye that I used again on the tail. It just makes you design more together. IMPORTANT DETAIL: Never shade your design /please/. If you use it as a ref sheet or giving it away it makes harder to colorpick the right color and just makes it look wrong when others draw it. 6. Choose a google background and smack it on there. Use something reminiscent of the design or just had the same colors. Move and smallen the moodboard. (And I added the jewelry I forgot hehe) 7. Add a white box behind your custom with extra space around them for the next step. I like to do 50% opacity. 8. Add the extras that tie it together, the recipe of colors in various shapes but always with a white background and important notes to the side in the eye color.
