TW// very slight body horror, eyestrain, static effect very quick sketch PMV Cascade write a romance that doesn't end in tragedy/heartbreak/homicide challenge level impossible -_- ok but not to rant (rant incoming) but the reason I write character relationships like this is really because I can't stand seeing only "sanitized" queer media -_- I feel like people tend to toe a line to make sure that when they write queer romance, it's an idealized version of a relationship to "normalize" queer romance, which really just does the opposite. I find it tends to romanticize and "commercialize" queer romance to be consumed by non-queer people, which is why I try to push back against that by doing the opposite and writing messier stories. OFC my problem is NEVER with a fluffy, sweet queer love story!! My problem is when queer relationships are portrayed in this romanticized, idealized way (often by non-queer people)! I also just love bitter-sweetness and tragedy in fiction what can I say lol If you read all that I'm so sorry for how unintelligible it is, because it's almost 3AM for me :sunglasses:
